The Live Net Zero Classroom Challenge is about celebrating effort, creativity, and climate action—not just big results. Our prize structure is designed to give every classroom a fair chance while recognizing outstanding participation.
How Prizes Work
- Equitable Access: Every classroom has the same opportunity to win, no matter their resources.
- Effort Counts: Each challenge your class completes earns one entry into the prize draws (up to 10 entries per class).
- Randomized Draws: Winners are selected at random, so completing more challenges increases your odds but doesn’t guarantee a win.
- Two Divisions: Separate draws are held for Grades K–6 and Grades 7–12, ensuring fairness across age groups.
- One Prize Per Class: Once a class wins, their other entries are removed from the draw so more schools can be recognized.
- Multiple Classes: Teachers may register and submit entries for more than one class.
- Homeschools: Eligible if at least three students are registered within their province.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do we increase our chances of winning?
Each completed challenge = one entry. The more challenges you complete (up to 10), the more entries your class earns.
Q: Do bigger schools have an advantage?
No. Every class is entered separately, and each class can only win once.
Q: What can we use the prize money for?
Prizes are intended to support sustainability and climate awareness initiatives in your school—such as classroom projects, resources, field trips or community actions.
Q: Can homeschool groups participate?
Yes! Homeschool classes are eligible if they have at least three students registered in their province.
Q: Can First Nations schools and charter schools participate?
Yes! All classes are eligible if they have at least three students registered in their province.
Q: Can extracurricular groups and clubs participate?
Yes! Extracurricular groups and clubs are eligible as long as they have at least three students who will be monitored by the same educator.
Q: Do I have to complete ten challenges?
Participating classrooms are invited to complete as many challenges as they wish. However, classrooms can submit a maximum of ten challenge proofs for inclusion in the prize draws. Each completed challenge = one entry. The more challenges you complete (up to 10), the more entries your class earns.
Q: When do I have to submit proof that my classroom completed one or more challenges?
All proof of participation must be submitted by November 15, 2025 at 23:59 PM ET.
Q: How are winners selected?
All prize categories include random prize draws. All participating classrooms have the same chances of winning a prize so long as their submissions meet the requirements for each challenge listed in the challenge PDFs located under the My Class Challenges tab.
