Although this year’s contest has ended, the full set of Live Net Zero Classroom activities will remain available on this site. Teachers are welcome to continue downloading and using the challenges at any time to support classroom learning, climate action, and sustainability initiatives.

This past fall, Canadian educators and students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 joined a nationwide contest that turns everyday classroom and household actions into powerful steps toward a sustainable future. Free for all Canadian classrooms and designed to inspire hands-on learning, the Challenge offers curriculum-linked activities tailored for different grade levels, with bilingual resources available for both elementary and secondary students.

From reducing energy use and waste to rethinking transportation, food choices, and celebrations, each challenge encourages students to take real action—at school, at home, and in their communities. Participating classes submit proof of their completed challenges for the chance to win cash prizes that support ongoing climate and sustainability projects at their school.

Getting started is easy: create your educator account, register your class, choose the challenges that spark your curiosity, and begin making a difference today!
